what (not) to say

This is a post from another blog that I have started following.  Michele has lost several children and is now navigating the NICU with her new twins.  The theme of this post is things that parents do and do NOT want to hear from their family and friends after loss.  Thought it may be a good reminder.

  1. Amanda, thank you for sharing this link. It’s times like these that I often find myself at a loss for words. You all are in my thoughts everyday, and always in my heart.

  2. I think it’s great to let people know what words are appreciated and which ones would hurt. Like she said, no one can truly know what you are going through unless they have gone through it themselves. I know that those of us who love you all only want to support you but maybe at a lose on what to say. But if anyone ever tells you to “get over it” then you are well within your rights to punch them in the face, because that is ridiculous! I love every one of you and will always be praying for sweet Gabriel.

  3. Thank you for sharing this with your blog followers. 🙂
